Roelands - Overview |
Years of Operation | Roelands has had three distinct periods of operation, dating from around the 1930s to 1984. Each of these periods is discussed in separate entries in Signposts: “Roelands as a Training Centre”, “Roelands Native Mission” and “Roelands Village”. |
Role Of Facility | Roelands has variously been a Training Centre for Perth (non-Indigenous) schoolboys, a “Native Mission Farm” and a provider of residential child care for children from an Indigenous background.
It is currently a working farm which has no relationship to its history as a provider of residential child care.
